This is a typical case of the 'small-man syndrome'.He wants to think, he is a big bad guy overpowering small weaklings. Having a small build and midget height, he tries to compensate, by being loud and deep-voiced resulting in a pathetic display of overacting. Check out 'Scar face' and 'Scent of a woman'.
His movies have been successful not mainly because of his talent, it is primarily due to the cast, storyline and the plot, like Godfather I and II (Brando and Robert De Niro). Godfather III, where he had to go it alone - the movie bombed.

WOW, I totally agree. He has that all too familiar Napoleon complex....it's almost sickening,. For example, in Heat he plays a real "Drama King"!
