Roger Federer - not a 'GOAT'

Here is why Roger Federer is not a GOAT (greatest of all time).

He is playing against a talent-depleted field compared to Sampras or Borg, who had to deal with Hall of 'Famers' like John McEncroe, Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker, Jimmy Connors, Andre Agassi, Patrick Rafter, Jim Courier, Stephan Edberg, Mats Wilander etc.

Roger is dealing with Roddicks, Hewitts, Ljubicics, Davydenkos, Nalbandians etc. None of them will ever be a Hall of 'Famer'. Only competition with Hall Of 'Famer' credential is Nadal and he has a winning record against Roger.

Federer, no doubt, is the most dominating athlete on the planet. With the title, comes the responsibility of being a good role model to the kids and the public at large. How's this for being a model - one word - Fornication. He has been with his current girl friend for 7 years. What message does that send to the younger generation. That it is OK to fornicate, and treat women with indignity. Purpose of dating is to ascertain if the girl or boy is the right match for you. Experts expect that to be done at the most in 2-3 years max. Beyond that, and you are abusing the person.

Message to his girl friend Mirka: You are the reason men treat women with disrespect and indignity. Get a life and some 'kahonis'.

He is definitely not a GOAT yet, but I think he is well on his way. If he gets around 20 grand slams, then it is very difficult not to call him the GOAT, despite all other factors.
